President’s Report

Congrats to Gale Doudy on the Jimmy Nelson award - well deserved - thanks for the

great job on bringing us into the 21st century with the website.

Report on the BC FF Show - successful and fun event for members, public and kids - highlites were the many talented fly-tiers, casting clinics, youth fly tying and casting competition with several rod/reel sets given out as prizes. Successful live and silent auctions - hosted trips by Joel Evans and Tony Chelf got the highest bids. Special thanks to our exhibitors and vendors - especially Gumpshun Gallery in Ouray and Dr. Loerke from Log Hill for generous donations to the auction programs. The top items drew $1000 a piece for the Lower Gunnison trip for four and the beautiful bronze sculpture "The Moment" purchased by GGA founder and past president Joel Evans. And the hit of the show was our special guest Bob Jacklin from West Yellowstone who gave an outstanding program Saturday night as well as tied flys and gave interesting rod casting demonstrations.Special thanks to Ed Kehoe the  Show coordinator. Kurt Zelazny for the fly tiers and slide programs, Dave Pipkin for the Youth Events and all the other volunteers that made the show a wondeful event that GGA can be proud of.

Thanks    Marshall
