Step 1. Attach thread at 3/4 point. Wrap thread to hook point and tie in a dozen spade hackles with the tips extending full length off the back.
Step 2. Dub abdomen body to the ¾ point with light dubbing.
Step 3. Tie in a dozen spade hackles for a case back and legs by the butt in front of the abdomen.
Step 4. Dub thorax area with dark dubbing
Step 5. Pull leg hackles over the thorax forming a case back. Secure with several tight wraps of thread behind the eye.
Step 6. Separate ½ of the fibers and tie back along the side the thorax on the far side of the fly. Tie the other half along the other side. Whip finish. Trim legs and tail to desired length.
